1 - Can I cut my cake with a knife or use metal utensils on my Tefal bakeware?

No.The non-stick coating would get damaged and the bakeware would lose its non-stick properties. Tefal has designed specific non-metal utensils that can be used on our bakeware products.

2 - Can I put my Tefal bakeware in a microwave?

No. They are made of aluminium, which is a metal, and metal cannot be used in the microwave.

3 - Can I put my Tefal bakeware in the dishwasher?

Yes, but cleaning your bakeware with a sponge and hot soapy water is best. If you do use the dishwasher, wipe a little oil over the non-stick coating after each wash to protect the non-stick coating from the chemicals that are in dishwasher detergents.

4 - Can I use my Tefal bakeware on gas, electric or ceramic hobs?

Generally no. They are designed to go in the oven and not on hob.

5 - How do I clean my bakeware?

When cleaning the non-stick interior, never use wire wool, scouring pads or scouring powder. Instead, use a sponge, hot water and dishwashing liquid. If bakeware has been cleaned in a dishwasher, re-oil it with cooking oil before using again.

6 - How do I take care of my new Tefal bakeware?

The inside of your Tefal bakeware is coated with a tough non-stick surface. Before using it for the first time, wash in hot water, dry and then pour in half a teaspoon of cooking oil. Spread the oil evenly with a clean cloth or paper towel. Repeat after approximately every 5 10 uses.

7 - What happens if the non-stick coating peels off and is accidentally eaten by someone?

Tefal non-stick coating offers resistance to all known chemical products and is formulated not to chip or peel under normal conditions of use. If the tins are not used properly and particles from the coating are accidentally ingested, there is no danger. These particles are not toxic and almost totally inert, and will pass through the body without being absorbed.

8 - What utensils can I use in my bakeware?

Only use wooden, plastic or Tefal's nylon utensils. Metal utensils can damage the non-stick coating on the bakeware.
